…with WHISKEY.

Duh.

Anyway, it’s been brought to my attention that I haven’t made it easy for you, my beloved readers, to pick the appropriate Irish Whiskey for your Saint Patricks’ Day Celebrations. I’m listing these by price point because most of us are concerned about “Should I really spend this much?” and the answer is, yes you should.  Well, except maybe for #5… but if you can find it, BUY IT!

Here we go!

#1 – Around $20:
Jameson

I’ve already waxed lyrical about Jameson and how good it is. I won’t relay that same information again, except to say that if it’s not in your cabinet, get it now. Seriously, if you’re not sure how much to spend or unsure of the crowd with whom you’ll be sharing, Jameson is your whiskey.

#2 – Around $30:
Teeling Small Batch

One of the whiskies I’ve never reviewed, but I have tasted and it’s quite nice. A bit biting, so this is a great Black Velvet (the Guinness drink) companion.

#3 – Around $40:
Redbreast 12 or Writer’s Tears

Personally, I adore Writer’s Tears. Single malt Irish Whiskey, aged in bourbon barrels… oh, yeah. But I  know it can be troublesome to find. So, Redbreast 12 is everywhere and has nice spice.

#4 – Around $50:
Tullamore D.E.W. 12 year old

Solid, straight up the middle. If you come across anyone who doesn’t like this smooth and mildly citrusy whiskey, shun them. Immediately.

#5 – More Money than ANYONE Should Ever Spend on Whiskey:
Midleton

The best Irish Whiskey ever crafted. And you know this.
Because it is a fact.

So now you know. And knowing is half the battle. (The other half is fisticuffs and explosions.)

Cheers!
