This is The Booze Guru’s take on the classic, Prohibition-Era cocktail: The Aviation. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the guys up in Oregon took the name “Aviation” for their gin as it’s a fantastic gin for this cocktail. However, the hibiscus and citrus notes in Spirit Works Gin are perfectly suited for the Aviation Cocktail.
- 2 ounces Spirit Works or Aviation Gin
- 1/2 ounce fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 1/4 ounce Luxardo
- 1/4 ounce Creme de Violette
Add ice to a Boston Shaker. Pour in all ingredients. Shake until your hands feel like they’re going to freeze off.
Strain into a cocktail glass or champagne coupe.
Garnish with a lemon twist or Meyer Lemon peel.
Enjoy!
