After mixing up my own version of the classic Aviation Cocktail, I had a thought: “What if I make a version of this like a French 75?”
So, I did. And it will kick you in the skull.
The Howitzer
- 1 ounce Aviation Gin
- 1/4 ounce fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 1/4 ounce Luxardo
- 1/4 ounce Creme de Violette
- 1/4 ounce simple syrup
- Italian Prosecco or a light, clean Champagne/sparkling wine
Add ice to a Boston Shaker. Put in the gin, lemon juice, Luxardo, Violette, and syrup. Shake until your hands feel like they’re going to freeze off. Then shake a bit longer.
Strain into a champagne flute. Top off with Prosecco.
Garnish with a lemon twist and maraschino cherry.
Enjoy!
