Staying with the Domaine de Canton theme, I present the next crazy creation.
Using The Blood Orchid as a launching point, this cocktail dials back the ginger flavor and sweetens it up. If heavy spice ain’t your thing, but you don’t mind a bit of a surprise, this cocktail should please you.
Pretty Liar
- 1 ounce Gin (floral or neutral recommended; Aviation, Spirit Works, Plymouth)
- 1 ounce Domaine de Canton Ginger Liqueur
- 2 ounces cranberry juice (sweetened cranberry “cocktail”)
Add ice to a Boston Shaker. Add all the ingredients. Shake until your hands feel like they’re going to freeze off.
Strain into a chilled cocktail/martini glass.
Garnish with maraschino cherry.
Enjoy!
The scent is smooth, sweet and floral. However, when sipping, this Pretty Liar gently slaps you with a surprising ginger twinge on the tongue. Spice notes are not overly pronounced, but still present.
